History of Benopolis

Benopolis was once a great city on Grizzly Bay in California, offering opportunities for recreation in the form of sailing, swimming, hiking, and more. Less than an hour's drive away from San Francisco, Oakland, and Sacramento, Benopolis provided A large portion of the economy was fed by the industrial sector in the northeast, but that was also what led to the fall of Benopolis.

In the spring of 2015, flash flooding due to heavy rainfall over the bay caused damage to some of the Exxon Mobile oil refinery's containers and caused major crude oil leaks. Thousands of gallons of crude oil mixed with the floodwaters and spread throughout Benopolis and Grizzly Bay. Drinking water was unobtainable and the once thriving wildlife in the area was exposed to deadly levels of toxicity in water and in the soil, killing most of the plants and animals within the vicinity of the oil spill.
